John Rutherford is a good friend of mine.  He is an excellent astrologer, and I check in with him every now and then....  like last week.  John doesn't read your personality, or predict the future.  He simply looks at the chart, checks the relationships between significant planets and constellations, the houses, and major points.  Sound complex - you bet it is.  But simple too! All he is doing is reading a map.  You want to go somewhere?  Read a map!  But knowing how to read a map is what makes the journey interesting, insightful, and better prepared.

John Rutherford's Check Your Chart, for the Week of 2 October, 2006

Here’s the formula for creating a kid who doesn’t give-a-damn: give him (or her) a parent who has nothing good to do with him (“you’re a loser and always will be”) and the other parent who has nothing bad to do with him (“stop picking on her; you never loved her like I did.”).  All in all, with conflict and contrast, all the kid knows is inconsistency.  With everything.
Want a sure fire way to kill a marriage or partnership?  Ride the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse”, namely contempt, sarcasm, stonewalling and defensiveness.  The first two attack, the second two run away.  Like above, one is left with a question of “where are the boundaries?”  They keep changing, if they existed at all.
So what are the five rules for success against insurgents?  Keep your forces and the people connected, let the leader of the people control the forces, use minimal force, let force be a last resort, and establish boundaries.  Some call it politics, others call it being polite.  It works one-on-one and many-to-many.  It’s about respect.
Those who invade the boundaries of others show no respect for the integrity of any other person.  They show little respect for those around them, then for those they like, and finally no respect for themselves.  It’s like the kid who grew up with all boundaries crossed or ignored, gets his kicks crippling insects, being cruel to critters, and finally thrown in the slammer for doing something nasty.
The current celestial T-square, involving 3 of the 4 giant planets, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune, is a time that calls many boundaries into question.  Jupiter / Saturn sets up legal (Jupiter) boundaries (Saturn), including business deals and contracts.  Neptune is the classic “dissolver” of boundaries.  We see the biggest problem in Afghanistan and Iraq with porous boundaries.  We saw some justice last week with prison sentences for the Enron brass trying to steal $60 billion.
Since nobody can do anything without thinking about it first, in some way, on some level, everything starts in the mind.  Everything you see, and the way you see it, is based on your own personal point (or points, as in Your Four Personal Points) of view.  What are the four ways to humanity?  Think about the other guy once in a while, stick around and help out, and you don’t always have to be right.  You win some, you lose some.  At least agree to disagree.  That’s okay.  You’ll respect yourself in the morning.

Nota Bene:  Astrology is not about fortune-telling.  It’s about emotional weather.  It’s about opening up options.  Your Horoscope gives many perspectives and shows various ways of dealing with your current situation.  Some of them will be actions, some not.  Some will be a shift, or a “furthering”, of your point, or points, of view.

This week:  Another part of the giant complex comes due under this Full Moon Friday night.  Jupiter squared Neptune on September 24th to boost doubts and increase speculation.  The Fat Boy squares the Stodge, Saturn, on the 25th of this month, to get tough with those who’ve played loosey-goosie with purse-strings and policies.  We just had our first example of the tightening of fiscal times with the massive paydown on the national debt.
All those with something important at 15 to (soon-to-be) 20 degrees of Fixed Signs in their charts have been going through this grandiose challenge for the last few weeks.  Magnified are all the issues of what is and is not, what can and can’t be done, is it worth it or will you just pack it in.  Where are the boundaries?  This Full Moon is the transition, the shifting of gears toward a tightening of mood.
But, hey, the Sun is in Libra, and Libras, the early ones at least, just want to have fun.  Oh yeah, there is that this week, too.  It’s personal and it’s sweet.  Just be home by Thursday.

Tuesday, 3 October.  (Moon in late Aquarius.  Venus aspects Jupiter, Saturn / Neptune.  4 Card, 19 Fix)
Late Aquarius is the Fun Zone and, with the spark from these two, fun could get out of hand if you don’t have a vision.  Let’s say there was too much whipping cream in the can.  What a picture.  It makes up for last Sunday’s crank.  Venus sweetens and brightens what could be some gloom to hopeful prospects, exact Friday.  It won’t work without long term considerations.  No quick fix.

Wednesday, 4 October.  (Moon in Pisces occulting Uranus.  Mars trine Neptune.  17 degrees of All Signs)
Out of gas, at least so to speak.  “I’m sick (and tired!).”  It’s trivial do-dahs, or running after little nothings.  Chasing your tail is as productive.
(Sun aspects Venus / Mars – Neptune.  11 Card, 26 Fix)
There’s an aura of sensuality that won’t quit until satisfied, and that won’t happen.  Chasing rainbows, on an elusive personal quest, you won’t get there from this planet.

Thursday, 5 October.  (Moon in limbo in Pisces.  Venus aspects Saturn.  6 Card, 21 Fix)
Finally, something to sink your teeth into.  Sure, practical is boring, but it’s also reliable.  Tell yourself, you want what’s conventional, not the fashion plate or the rock star.

Friday, 6 October.  (Jupiter aspects Saturn / Neptune.  19 Fix, 4 Card)
The beginning of the end-times, for the year, the season, and current social movements.  Jupiter, on one level, represents what the crowd wants, the people in the streets.  They feel stymied, and need to get even.  On another level, Jupiter is authority, the boss, and soon to see a come-uppance.  Brash, bold plans fail.  Thorough and realistic succeeds.

Friday – Sunday, 6-8 October.  (Full Moon in Aries.  Sun aspects Uranus / Jupiter-Neptune.  13-15 card, 28 Fix-0 Mut)
Huge expectations that don’t succeed without patience and timing.  Saturday sure ain’t it, but Sunday could.  What is this, a Full Moon that takes 3 days to pop?  It’s selfish (Fri), to stubborn-stupid (Sat), to bright-eyed gregarious (Sun).  It’s fun if you can wait.

If you want the "horrible-scopes", go somewhere else.  If you want the meaning behind them, stay on.

Is your Number up?
Check Your Four Personal Points for every day, see below.  If the numbers match, this day is for you.

Each forecast shows: the Moon Sign, the Planetary Aspect, and Numbers of degrees in Signs for the Planetary Aspect.
The Moon Sign is the Sign the Moon is in for that day.  The Moon Sign gives advantage to the Sign it is in, puts extra pressure on the opposite Sign, and tends to cross up or neutralise the Signs at right angles.  For example, with Fixed Signs, if the Moon is in Taurus, Taurus has the advantage, Scorpio gets challenged, and Leo and Aquarius get shifted or crossed up.
The Planetary Aspect is where action is released.  It's the Excuse.  Unlike daily Horoscopes that suggest each day has the same level of influence, this is the core of changes in the daily energies.
The Sign Numbers are the degrees in the Signs of the Zodiac being emphasised.  If the degree for any day is close to any degree of Your Four Personal Points (see below), within a degree or so, THIS IS YOUR DAY.  Pay extra ATTENTION.
You may have several days in the week activated for you, or you may have none.  As a degree hits one of Your Four Personal Points, the forecast tells about the important things in your life.  The daily forecasts tell you when.  The overall story comes through over time.  Sooner or later, the degrees of the Forecast catch up to you.

Your Four Personal Points are, in order of importance:
The Ascendant, the Mid-heaven, the Moon, and the Sun.
These are the most important Points of your Horoscope, calculated from your birth date, your birth-place, and the time of day you drew your first breath.  The first two Personal Points, the Ascendant and Mid-heaven, are the points that fix the Earth in space for your birth time at your specific birth place.  We live on the Earth, not the Sun or the Moon.  The Ascendant, also called Your Rising Sign, is more important than your Sun Sign.

Simply, and generally only, forecasts that affect your:
Ascendant     relate to matters in your environment.  Use it to see what's in your "face".
Mid-heaven  relate to matters in your personal life.    Use it to see what's in your mind.
Moon           relate to matters in your emotional life.   Use it to see what's in your heart.
Sun              relate to matters in your physical life.        Use it to see what's in your core.

The Signs of the Zodiac are:
Card:
Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)
Fix: Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius)
Mut: Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces)

Heaven, Help Us!  The forecast is the mood of the moment. For example, if it rains, we all get wet, no matter what "Sign" we are.
