John Rutherford's
Check Your Chart, for the Week of 18 September, 2006
Item 1:
A day in September meant to unify the people.  It was a chilling, awesome spectacle with searchlights pointing straight up into the sky.  The Leader was more than a leader.  He was the grand Decider, giving direction to a bold, daring and dangerous future where old, traditional ways of doing things no longer applied.  He did not need the laws.  He was the Law.
Civil liberties must be set aside to protect society from those disgusting, feeble minded brutes bent on destroying an enlightened civilisation.  Nothing was more important than the safety and security of the people.  Falsities, fabrications and deceptions were valid to justify protective, “self-defensive” interventions.
No, the reference is not Manhattan on the anniversary of 9/11.  It was Nuremburg, Germany in the 1930’s.
Item 2: "The world is beginning to doubt the moral basis of our fight against terrorism," said Colin Powell, who served under Bush as Secretary of State and is a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. "To redefine Common Article 3 (of the Geneva Conventions) would add to those doubts. Furthermore, it would put our own troops at risk."
Wednesday, just before Thursday’s massive Giant Planet complex, a T-square, Bush spent 5 hours haranguing military lawyers to accept his push to redefine Article 3.  They refused.  Whew.  His Republican dominated congress has less than 2 months left to push through laws that allow the CIA to do anything to extract information, if not the military who must finally play by the book, even though every recent intelligence success has come from legal means.
Item 3: Why is everyone surprised?  A handsome young man, reasonably intelligent but gloomy, not well employed, not in any close relationship, not the right ethnicity, takes guns to a school and starts shooting everyone in sight.  She’s bright, cheerful and pretty, cute as a “Barbie” to friends and family.  When one in the cafeteria asks if he can go help her, because she’s wounded but still alive, Kim Gill puts several more bullets into her.  In a few more minutes, he too is dead, 19 others wounded.
Mass murderers are not loners but failed joiners.  Wanting desperately to become “somebody” through belonging, repeated rejection forces the awareness that, “It’s never going to get better”.  They turn on the very ones that excluded them.  He was a high school dropout going back to school.  She was the image of loveliness he deserved.  Only violence gives the last remaining pleasures: revenge, relief, recognition.
As the economic forces of the 1980’s destroyed the middle class, so many have recently become failed joiners of the good life.  It’s a wonder whole societies and cultures don’t turn to the embrace of violence.  Or, have they?
Item 4: Is it just another coincidence gas prices fall as the US election nears?

Last Week:  The Giant Planet T-square will leave effects for weeks to months.  Last Wednesday, there was also a T-square of the Moon aspecting the Venus-Uranus opposition, but its effects only last days.  Besides, it’s not a true T-square, as any Lunar configuration must be treated as a special situation (more at another time).  And, throwing the Mercury-Mars alignment into the mix made it all so complex, didn’t it?

This week:  Ah, some relief.  Venus aspects Jupiter Tuesday to make this early Fall ever so loverly.  The Moon is apogee Thursday, slow and distant, out of touch, triggering little.  The New Moon is also a Solar Eclipse, but annular, and only seen from the South Atlantic.  Ho hum.  Chill, dudes and dudettes.

Tuesday, 19 September.  (Moon in late Leo.  Venus in Virgo sextile Jupiter.  16 degrees of All Signs)
With appeals to home and family, and attractions to socialising, this is pleasant, if not romantic.  Bask in the praise and comfort.

Friday, 22 September.  (New Moon very slow in Virgo.  An annular, “bright ring around the Moon”, Solar Eclipse.  29 Mut, 14 Fix)
Not all Eclipses are made the same.  Some bring “oohs” and “aahs”.  This brings “uuh”?  Not much, a brief bit of excitement, but don’t extend yourself.

Saturday, 23 September.  (Moon in Libra.  Mercury trine Neptune.  17 degrees of All Signs)
You don’t want to know.  Even if you think you do, this is still not solvable, nor sensible, unless you’re looking for unusual subjects and out-of-the-way things.  Finders keepers.

Sunday, 24 September.  (Moon in late Libra.  Sun aspects Saturn / Uranus.  1 Card, 16 Fix)
Like stepping in a wad of chewing gum, sticky is OK for some, really cranky for others.  It’s only a small thing, but, hey, if you want to make something big ‘bout it…
(Jupiter square Neptune, aspects Venus / Mars.  17 Fix, 2 Card)
This takes a bigger, more comprehensive look, so more next week.  Meantime, it’s beautiful, but don’t chase it.  Rest with it gently, and savour thoroughly.

If you want the "horrible-scopes", go somewhere else.  If you want the meaning behind them, stay on.

Is your Number up?
Check Your Four Personal Points for every day, see below.  If the numbers match, this day is for you.

Each forecast shows: the Moon Sign, the Planetary Aspect, and Numbers of degrees in Signs for the Planetary Aspect.
The Moon Sign is the Sign the Moon is in for that day.  The Moon Sign gives advantage to the Sign it is in, puts extra pressure on the opposite Sign, and tends to cross up or neutralise the Signs at right angles.  For example, with Fixed Signs, if the Moon is in Taurus, Taurus has the advantage, Scorpio gets challenged, and Leo and Aquarius get shifted or crossed up.
The Planetary Aspect is where action is released.  It's the Excuse.  Unlike daily Horoscopes that suggest each day has the same level of influence, this is the core of changes in the daily energies.
The Sign Numbers are the degrees in the Signs of the Zodiac being emphasised.  If the degree for any day is close to any degree of Your Four Personal Points (see below), within a degree or so, THIS IS YOUR DAY.  Pay extra ATTENTION.
You may have several days in the week activated for you, or you may have none.  As a degree hits one of Your Four Personal Points, the forecast tells about the important things in your life.  The daily forecasts tell you when.  The overall story comes through over time.  Sooner or later, the degrees of the Forecast catch up to you.

Your Four Personal Points are, in order of importance:
The Ascendant, the Mid-heaven, the Moon, and the Sun.
These are the most important Points of your Horoscope, calculated from your birth date, your birth-place, and the time of day you drew your first breath.  The first two Personal Points, the Ascendant and Mid-heaven, are the points that fix the Earth in space for your birth time at your specific birth place.  We live on the Earth, not the Sun or the Moon.  The Ascendant, also called Your Rising Sign, is more important than your Sun Sign.

Simply, and generally only, forecasts that affect your:
Ascendant     relate to matters in your environment.  Use it to see what's in your "face".
Mid-heaven  relate to matters in your personal life.    Use it to see what's in your mind.
Moon           relate to matters in your emotional life.   Use it to see what's in your heart.
Sun              relate to matters in your physical life.        Use it to see what's in your core.

The Signs of the Zodiac are:
Card:
Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)
Fix: Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius)
Mut: Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces)

Heaven, Help Us!  The forecast is the mood of the moment. For example, if it rains, we all get wet, no matter what "Sign" we are.
