John Rutherford's
Check Your Chart, for the Week of 5 February, 2007

John Rutherford is a friend of mine that has done astrology readings for me since 1993.
Through John, I have learned lots about astrology, and we were both interested in the research conducted by psychologist Hans Eysenck and the Gaudins.  Enjoy - Todd.

Well, that was quite the Full Moon wasn’t it?  The I.P.C.C. report came out with evidence from thousands of scientists that human-caused Global Warming is now ‘Unequivocal’.  The “decider” for the world’s biggest “heater” again opposed mandatory caps, much less reductions, of greenhouse gases, warning about “unintended consequences” were anything to be done, such as possible loss of jobs.
US Energy Secretary Bodman said, “…we are a small contributor to the overall, when you look at the rest of the world.”  Excuse me?  The US, with only 5% of the world’s population, produces a quarter of the world’s pollution.  Who’s supposed to head off the impact of this inexorable freight train?  Where’s the leadership?
Meanwhile, all five of the world’s biggest oil companies announced record profits.  More evidence arose that they tried to bribe hundreds of climate scientists, as US climate scientists claim attempts were made for years to suppress and intimidate them.  It’s only about the money, forget the consequences?  Grab as much as possible, and party while you still can?  “We are spending our children’s inheritance,” is an obscene bumper sticker.  What are Liberals liberating?  What are conservatives conserving?
The emotional urge is to run to extremes, from denial to despair, from “It isn’t happening” to “There’s nothing we can do, so who cares?”  What does it take to turn down the thermostat?  Put some clothes on in winter!  Savour the sweat in summer!  We are running short, short of time, short of patience, short of breath.  It’s about time!  You, and your children, just might live longer.
The theme of the moment is Sacrifice.  The strongest Planetary aspect this year is the opposition of Saturn and Neptune.  Mercury triggered these two just over a week ago, thrusting to the fore the dire sense of the aspect.  It’s a clash between realism (Saturn) and fantasy (Neptune).  With the sway of manipulated money and acting/staging (Jupiter/Neptune) over the last 6 years, it’s an inconvenient truth that even scientists must resort to propaganda.
The message still hasn’t been brought home.  Most of the globe is aware of global warming but polls show the US close to the bottom of 46 developed/developing countries about it.  Nobody is willing to give up the SUV’s, latest polls show.  Can we do without cleavage-driven sexpresso drive-throughs?  Are drowning polar bears just pretending?  Are turkeys in Europe faking a cough?  Is the smog in China just “haze”?
Something has to go.  Will sacrifice be willing or forced?  Will it be more war, war on everything, war for food?  There is never a “fight for peace”.  How do you fight eco-refugees from BC floods to Bangladesh?  Where’s the compassion if the “Haves” blame, take from, and allow billions of “Have Nots” to perish?
Will there be endless debate whether man-made climate change is a “socialist scheme” or will something actually be done?  Will we change, or stubbornly stay the course?  Will we eat more vegetables and save the Brazilian rain forest from clear cuts for cattle fodder?  This year will show.  The critical focus is next month.

Note Bene: This forecast is not “fortune-telling” but it does show the Mood of the Moment, with relevant global examples.  Pay Attention!

This Week:  Then, it was Mercury.  This week, it’s the Sun, aligning with Neptune Thursday and opposed Saturn on Saturn’s day (just a coincidence).  Something severe and harsh must be faced (Saturn).  The way to deal with it is weak and ineffective (Neptune) without widely integrated and involved efforts (Neptune).
It’s just a lonely drop in the ocean without billions of cohesive drops.  Neptune is slowest of the Giant Planets.  A personal view (the Sun) must be long range, long term (Neptune).  A step back (Saturn) is vital (the Sun).  Both Giants are linked through March.
Oh yes, and Venus wants to play.  “Show me some excitement, you wild and crazy guy.”  That’s Uranus Wednesday.  “Show me a good time, Big Boy.”  That’s Jupiter Friday.  They’re both linked.  Someone will lose a little decorum along the way.

Wednesday, 7 February.  (Moon in Libra.  Sun aspects Jupiter / Saturn.  18 Fix, 3 Card)
Take your Personal Point and get the job done while it’s easy.  Wrap up affairs, legal matters.  Stability, longevity are up.  Trim some extras.  Buy it to last.
(Mars aspects Uranus / Neptune.  16 Card, 1 Mut)
Not a clue where you’re going, what you’re doing, is there?  Wasted enthusiasm.

Wednesday – Friday, 7-9 February.  (Venus aligns with Uranus, squares Jupiter.  13-15 Mut, 28 Card-0 Fix)
My, how cute, full of smiles, promising fun and delights.  Changes are smooth, easy to negotiate.  It’s also short lived, short loved.  “Can’t we be friends?”  As only a moment of convenience, wait till it costs, like Friday.  This isn’t for love.  It’s for show.

Thursday - Saturday, 8-10 February.  (Moon in Scorpio.  Sun conjunct Neptune, opposed Saturn.  19-21 Fix,4-6 Card)
It’s not in the slightest what’s in it for you, but what can be done without.  Choose to lose before it’s taken and the door is slammed shut.  Playing tough won’t work Thursday, but somebody must be the hard-ass by the weekend, saying “no” or “go”.  Muffled storm.

Friday, 9 February.  (Moon in Scorpio.  Mars aspects Jupiter / Neptune.  17 Card, 2 Mut))
Get out of the way.  Slippery works.  Facing this head on doesn’t.  Do more in the dark.
(Mars aspects Saturn / Uranus.  17 Card, 2 Mut)
It’s hard to trust what comes in a flash, perhaps gone as fast.  Temper a tension.  Defend.

Saturday, 10 February.  (Moon in Scorpio.  Mars aspects Jupiter / Saturn.  18 Card, 3 Mut)
Good job, as long as you finish.  Great workout, if you’re willing to go the distance.
(Venus aspects Jupiter / Neptune.  17 Mut, 2 Fix)
Planning a holiday?  A sweet dream, filled with wishful thinking.  So, wish on this star!

If you want the "horrible-scopes", go somewhere else.  If you want the meaning behind them, stay on.

Is your Number up?
Check Your Four Personal Points for every day, see below.  If the numbers match, this day is for you.

Each forecast shows: the Moon Sign, the Planetary Aspect, and Numbers of degrees in Signs for the Planetary Aspect.
The Moon Sign is the Sign the Moon is in for that day.  The Moon Sign gives advantage to the Sign it is in, puts extra pressure on the opposite Sign, and tends to cross up or neutralise the Signs at right angles.  For example, with Fixed Signs, if the Moon is in Taurus, Taurus has the advantage, Scorpio gets challenged, and Leo and Aquarius get shifted or crossed up.
The Planetary Aspect is where action is released.  It's the Excuse.  Unlike daily Horoscopes that suggest each day has the same level of influence, this is the core of changes in the daily energies.
The Sign Numbers are the degrees in the Signs of the Zodiac being emphasised.  If the degree for any day is close to any degree of Your Four Personal Points (see below), within a degree or so, THIS IS YOUR DAY.  Pay extra ATTENTION.
You may have several days in the week activated for you, or you may have none.  As a degree hits one of Your Four Personal Points, the forecast tells about the important things in your life.  The daily forecasts tell you when.  The overall story comes through over time.  Sooner or later, the degrees of the Forecast catch up to you.

Your Four Personal Points are, in order of importance:
The Ascendant, the Mid-heaven, the Moon, and the Sun.
These are the most important Points of your Horoscope, calculated from your birth date, your birth-place, and the time of day you drew your first breath.  The first two Personal Points, the Ascendant and Mid-heaven, are the points that fix the Earth in space for your birth time at your specific birth place.  We live on the Earth, not the Sun or the Moon.  The Ascendant, also called Your Rising Sign, is more important than your Sun Sign.

Simply, and generally only, forecasts that affect your:
Ascendant     relate to matters in your environment.  Use it to see what's in your "face".
Mid-heaven  relate to matters in your personal life.    Use it to see what's in your mind.
Moon           relate to matters in your emotional life.   Use it to see what's in your heart.
Sun              relate to matters in your physical life.        Use it to see what's in your core.

The Signs of the Zodiac are:
Card:
Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)
Fix: Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius)
Mut: Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces)

Heaven, Help Us!  The forecast is the mood of the moment. For example, if it rains, we all get wet, no matter what "Sign" we are.
