John Rutherford's Check Your Chartä

for the Week of 6 December 2004

Last week, I get an e-mail with, "Maybe I am dense but I still don't understand how to check out the 4 points on your horoscope. How do you find the degrees in your horoscope? Do you need an ephemeris?" This friend has done some homework, asking technical questions.

I replied with an example from last week's forecast: Tuesday, 30 November. (Moon apogee in Cancer. Mercury stationary on the Galactic Centre, Sagittarius. 26 Mut, 11 Fix. Mars in Scorpio square Neptune. 13 Fix, 28 Mut)

Please note: the "26 Mut, 11 Fix" gives the degrees of the Mercury position on the Galactic Centre, 26 degrees of Sagittarius, a Mutable Sign, its aspect to other Mutable Signs at 26 degrees, and its sub-aspect to Fixed Signs at 11 degrees.

For Mars in Scorpio at 13 degrees, a Fixed Sign (There was a typo last week in the forecast, sorry. I have changed it here.) square Neptune also at 13 degrees of a Fixed Sign, the sub-aspect is to 28 degrees of Mutable Signs.

The Cardinal Signs are: Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, each of the Signs for the start of each Season: Spring for Aries, Summer for Cancer, Fall for Libra, and Winter for Capricorn. The start of each of these Signs are the Equinoxes and Solstices, making up the Heavenly Cross of the Seasons. The Cardinal Signs also signal some of our major Holy Days: Easter/Passover for the Spring, Oberon – the start of Summer, New Year in the Fall in some cultures, and the one we are approaching, the Saturnalia, now called Christ’s Mass.

The Fixed Signs are the next Signs following the Cardinal Signs: Taurus for mid-Spring, Leo for mid-Summer, Scorpio for mid-Fall, and Aquarius for mid-Winter. These are the Signs where we find the "cross-quarter" holidays, in this age in order from Spring: May Day, the Bacchanal, Hallowe'en, and Valentine's Day.

Finally, the Mutable Signs are those that follow the Fixed Signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. These are often the most busy Signs of the Zodiac.

An Ephemeris is a table of Planetary positions. It is called an Ephemeris since the Planetary positions are ephemeral, meaning they are changing all the time. Not only do they change constantly, but the Planets also change at different rates each day. The only Planet that is in the same place in the Heavens each year on the same date, say for example on your birthday, is the Sun. All the other Planets, the Moon, Mercury, Venus and so on, are in very different places.

You don't need an ephemeris, since the degrees of the Planetary aspect are already given. For example, 26 degrees of Sagittarius for Mercury and the Galactic Centre. If any of those specific degrees for any of the Planetary aspects given is close, within one degree only, to any of Your Four Personal Points, then the following forecast is specific for you.

For my friend I said, "Your Asc (Ascendant) = 20 Scorpio, MC (Midheaven) = 9 Virgo, Moon = 3 Leo, Sun = 21 Scorpio. The only aspect through the week that comes close to any of those degrees is Thursday, when the Sun aspects Saturn. The degrees affected are 11 Mutual Signs (11 Mut) and 26 Cardinal Signs (26 card). The 11 Mut is 2 degrees past an aspect to your MC (9 Virgo), so it's past affecting you now. Keep watch on all aspects to Saturn (one of the slower moving giant Planets; there are four only.) as it goes retrograde, and backs up to aspect your Midheaven by early January.

"Each aspect to it, especially as it gets closer, is a trigger for some issue related to both your work position and your stability and security at home, and will have the characteristics of the planet giving the aspect. For example, Mercury can provide changes, Venus embellishments, Mars is drive and defense, and so on. Saturn wants to give problems if you don't act tough enough. The adding of territory to your job is more responsibility, namely more Saturn, and a positive thing for your position. Hope that helps."

This Week DEC 6th:

For the vigorous, a pleasant spin off of the Venus Mars conjunction Tuesday through Thursday. The Moon occults Jupiter Tuesday morning, messing up some grabbing of goodies, but only if you are back East, like New York or Montreal. Then, a stodgy, if not insistent, New Moon Saturday. What, you haven’t done all your shopping yet? Oh yeah, Mercury aligns with Pluto Tuesday, boring Swiss Cheese holes in a head getting cramps, but that’s mostly for a Sagittarius friend in the US. Focusing too much on too little again, are we? All in all, it’s a better week than last. Just pick what can be done.
Tuesday - Thrusday, 7-9 December. (Moon late Libra, early Scorpio. Sun in Sagittarius aspects Mars and Venus / Jupiter. 16-17 Mut, 1-2 Fix)So many think Venus and Mars spark romance, and it can, but I think body building. Venus means vanity, a good self image, and Mars is the warrior’s go-do-it energy. Jupiter makes this not only quickly rewarding but enjoyable. So, pump up the action!
Friday – Saturday, 10-11 December. (New Moon in Sagittarius. Retrograde Mercury aligns with the Sun and Saturn / Neptune)Time to put in all the stops, not pull them out. Save it for tomorrow, qv. The Moon in front of the Sun wants to draw things in. Saturn / Neptune wants to slow it to a crawl. And, Mercury is too excited to make any sensible decision, perhaps not for a week! It’s OK to wait.
Sunday, 12 December. (Moon swift in Capricorn. Mercury sextile Jupiter. 15 degrees of All Signs)Bright ideas spring forth, and if this hits your Personal Points, the bubbling won’t stop. Are you the talker or the talkee? Spread it around. Burn up the cell minutes. This enthusiasm should be diffused ASAP. You just can’t hold onto it, and you shouldn’t.

If you want the "horrible-scopes", go somewhere else. If you want the meaning behind them, stay on.

Is your Number up? Check Your Four Personal Points for every day. If the numbers match, this day is for you.

Each forecast shows: the Moon Sign, the Planetary Aspect, and Numbers of degrees in Signs for the Planetary Aspect.

The Moon Sign is the Sign the Moon is in for that day. The Moon Sign gives advantage to the Sign it is in, puts extra pressure on the opposite Sign, and tends to cross up or neutralise the Signs at right angles. For example, with Fixed Signs, if the Moon is in Taurus, Taurus has the advantage, Scorpio gets challenged, and Leo and Aquarius get shifted or crossed up.
The Planetary Aspect is where action is released. It's the Excuse. Unlike daily Horoscopes that suggest each day has the same level of influence, this is the core of changes in the daily energies.
The Sign Numbers are the degrees in the Signs of the Zodiac being emphasised. If the degree for any day is close to any degree of Your Four Personal Points (see below), within a degree or so, THIS IS YOUR DAY. Pay extra ATTENTION.

You may have several days in the week activated for you, or you may have none. As a degree hits one of Your Four Personal Points, the forecast tells about the important things in your life. The daily forecasts tell you when. The overall story comes through over time. Sooner or later, the degrees of the Forecast catch up to you.

Your Four Personal Points are, in order of importance:  The Ascendant, the Mid-heaven, the Moon, and the Sun.

These are the most important Points of your Horoscope, calculated from your birth date, your birth-place, and the time of day you drew your first breath. The first two Personal Points, the Ascendant and Mid-heaven, are the points thatfix the Earth in space for your birth time at your specific birth place. We live on the Earth, not the Sun or the Moon. The Ascendant, also called Your Rising Sign, is more important than your Sun Sign.

Simply, and generally only, forecasts that affect your:
Ascendant relate to matters in your environment. Use it to see what's in your "face".
Mid-heaven relate to matters in your personal life. Use it to see what's in your mind.
Moon relate to matters in your emotional life. Use it to see what's in your heart.
Sun relate to matters in your physical life. Use it to see what's in your core.
The Signs of the Zodiac are:
Card: Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)
Fix: Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius)
Mut: Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces)

Heaven, Help Us! The forecast is the mood of the moment. For example, if it rains, we all get wet, no matter what "Sign" we are.

If you like this forecast, let others know. SEND IT TO THEM. If you have comments or questions, LET ME KNOW. Check Your Four Personal Points each week if any of them is targeted, and... PAY ATTENTION!
