John Rutherford's
Check Your Chart, for the Week of 20 December 2004.

As I write, Mercury, the Communicator, is in a standstill and in a double aspect to stern, quiet, deliberate Saturn.  Obviously, the KISS principle is on high alert.  Keep it sooooo simple, even I can understand it.
On all the multitude of habitable planets orbiting the gazillions of stars in the myriad of galaxies in our universe, in every situation where there are two or more, there are hierarchies.  Someone is above, and the rest are below.  This is the way it is.
Since that is so, the uni-verse, the one complete, integrated, unified song of all that is, is perfect.  And, in a perfect world, there will be good things and bad, good times and bad, and a whole bunch of beings that make it so.
So, let yourself appreciate this beautiful life at this perfectly cool and dark time of year.  Some people you like, some you can’t stand, and that’s the way it’s supposed to be.  There are those we love, some close, some lost, some grand, some stingy, and just enough scrooges and dour curmudgeons to help us say, “There, but by the grace of one more insult, go I.”
Appreciate all of it.  Since the word ‘cosmos’, like ‘cosmetic’, means beautifully ordered and harmonious, without all of it, it wouldn’t be our Cosmos, our beautiful place.  Have a very soothing Solstice, and a very Happy Christmas.

This Week: Let’s get the stress out of the way first, Monday, OK?  Good, done.  Then it’s onward to greater clarity and simplicity Tuesday, as Mercury, the Ever-Kid, aspects Saturn, the Teacher.  Growing up is hard, but we all do it eventually.  Well, maybe most of us.
Sticking to the schedule, just putting one foot in front of another to keep on going, and getting the chores done is fine for Thursday and Friday.  Oh, where is the final break?  It’s on Christmas Eve, of course, as the Sun aspects Uranus, Mister Silly.  Uranus is the Mad Hatter, needing enough gathered to call it a party.  Stay cordial and open, if for nothing else than self defence.
Say little Friday (more Mercury / Saturn), but you can stay late Saturday as there is a proper winding down of all energies, in spite of the Full Moon.  Just watch out for all the mental fuzziness through Boxing Day, or the Fuzz and Busters are gonna get ya.  Towed ya.  You needed to walk more anyhow, nice and slow.

Monday, 20 December.  (Moon in Aries.  Sun in the last of Sagittarius, aspects Saturn / Uranus.  29 Mut, 14 Fix) Rock and Roll on a Monday night?  Sure, if you can get it.  Better to own the dance hall.  Shake this up.  Why bite your nails?  You can’t stay current without an upgrade.

Tuesday, 21 December.  (Moon in Taurus.  Sluggish Mercury in Sagittarius aspects Saturn.  10 Mut, 25 Card)
Brain damage!  A hangover without the excuse?  Come on and concentrate!  You can do it if you try.  Just one more thing to figure out, then you can go home.  Say little, just what’s necessary.  Stick to the point.

Thursday, 23 December.  (Moon in Gemini.  Sun in Capricorn aspects Venus / Saturn.  2 Card, 17 Fix) You can play, but you still go home with who brung ya, or else.  Tried and true is for you, nothing fancy.  The traditional can still be creative.  Or, do I later get to tell you I told you so?

Friday, 24 December.  (Moon in Gemini.  Venus in Sagittarius aspects Saturn.  10 Mut, 25 Card) See yesterday.  And, keep it clean.  You’ll like clean.  They will too, and neat.  Savour the simple.
(Sun in Capricorn sextile Uranus.  3 degrees of All Signs)Let’s play!  Get out, get social.  Mix it up a bit.  Stuck in the same-old is not the cork you want to pop.
(Sun in Capricorn aspects Mercury / Saturn.  3 Card, 18 Fix)All good things come to an end.  This is about midnight when the mood changes, becomes more serious.  Someone has to be the designated driver and, if this hits one of Your Four Personal Points, you’re it!  Normally I’d blend this with the one before, since the sextile to Uranus supports the hard aspect, but what the heck, it’s a holiday.  You can still have fun, even if not oblivious.

Saturday, 25 December.  (Full Moon in late Gemini.  Sun in Capricorn aspects Saturn / Neptune.  4 degrees of All Signs)The rulers of rhythm and timing suggest slow dancing, skating on the slick stuff, or going really carefully.  Odds and loose ends is all you get.  Hey, it’s a holiday!  Let it go.  It’s also a Full Moon.  Some got pizzazz, some got zilch.  Zippity zilch.

Sunday, 26 December.  (Moon in Cancer.  Mercury in Sagittarius sextile Neptune.  13 degrees of All Signs)You want a what?  You want to go where?  You gotta be kidding!  This is not to be figured out, just floated with.  Drift and dream.  Just do it safely.  Do you have someone to watch?  Santa was yesterday.

If you want the "horrible-scopes", go somewhere else.  If you want the meaning behind them, stay on.
Is your Number up?  Check Your Four Personal Points for every day.  If the numbers match, this day is for you.

Each forecast shows: the Moon Sign, the Planetary Aspect, and Numbers of degrees in Signs for the Planetary Aspect. The Moon Sign is the Sign the Moon is in for that day.  The Moon Sign gives advantage to the Sign it is in, puts extra pressure on the opposite Sign, and tends to cross up or neutralise the Signs at right angles.  For example, with Fixed Signs, if the Moon is in Taurus, Taurus has the advantage, Scorpio gets challenged, and Leo and Aquarius get shifted or crossed up.
The Planetary Aspect is where action is released.  It's the Excuse.  Unlike daily Horoscopes that suggest each day has the same level of influence, this is the core of changes in the daily energies.
The Sign Numbers are the degrees in the Signs of the Zodiac being emphasised.  If the degree for any day is close to any degree of Your Four Personal Points (see below), within a degree or so, THIS IS YOUR DAY.  Pay extra ATTENTION.

You may have several days in the week activated for you, or you may have none.  As a degree hits one of Your Four Personal Points, the forecast tells about the important things in your life.  The daily forecasts tell you when.  The overall story comes through over time.  Sooner or later, the degrees of the Forecast catch up to you.

Your Four Personal Points are, in order of importance:The Ascendant, the Mid-heaven, the Moon, and the Sun.
These are the most important Points of your Horoscope, calculated from your birth date, your birth-place, and the time of day you drew your first breath.  The first two Personal Points, the Ascendant and Mid-heaven, are the points that fix the Earth in space for your birth time at your specific birth place.  We live on the Earth, not the Sun or the Moon.  The Ascendant, also called Your Rising Sign, is more important than your Sun Sign.

Simply, and generally only, forecasts that affect your:
Ascendant     relate to matters in your environment.  Use it to see what's in your "face".
Mid-heaven  relate to matters in your personal life.    Use it to see what's in your mind.
Moon           relate to matters in your emotional life.   Use it to see what's in your heart.
Sun              relate to matters in your physical life.        Use it to see what's in your core.

The Signs of the Zodiac are:
Card: Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)
Fix: Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius)
Mut: Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces)

Heaven, Help Us!  The forecast is the mood of the moment. For example, if it rains, we all get wet, no matter what "Sign" we are.
