John Rutherford's
Check Your Chart, for the Week of 16 October, 2006
“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.”
(quote from Philip Dick) When the red light comes on in your car,
do you ignore it? Studies show consistently that the cost
difference between crisis management and preventive maintenance is about
3.5 or 4 to 1. Pass on your red light and see how much it will cost
to get an engine overhauled!
Current studies from Tufts University suggest spending $3 trillion per
year now on global warming will save spending $13 trillion per year by
the end of the century. But, if nothing is done, that cost rises to
$23 trillion per year, a conservative estimate since several factors,
such as the shutting down of the Gulf Stream or loss of biodiversity,
were not included. That’s 6 to 8% of what the global economy is
expected to be by 2100. In business, loss of less than 3% can mean
the difference between profit and bust.
The UK
is sticking with Kyoto, but Harper is snagged by the short and curlies
since he must keep cooking Alberta oil sands to save the US SUV’s.
It’s the fight for civilisation, you know. Meanwhile, whether the
nuke was a dud or not, Number One of the Axis of Evil, North Korea, is
looking to heat up the playground even more.
A
little prevention back in November 2001, when the PDNK violated an atomic
energy agreement by starting a uranium enrichment plant, would have gone
a long way. But, not a word was said to Kim Jong Il until October
the following year. So much for the practical strategy of going
after your worst problem first, eh?
By being fixed on a fight with a weakened thug smothered by spying,
already being shot at and years away from any WMD’s, getting the jump on
real terror, nuclear terror, was lost or severely delayed. Now One
and Two of the Axis of Evil are stronger than ever. Nothing like
dividing your friends and unifying your enemies, is there?
And, the cost of goose-chasing Three is half a trillion and counting with
no end in sight. Economists now warn of a global economic threat
linked with the US debt. Jupiter is linked with leaders,
well-being, and money. Jupiter has been in conflict for weeks with
Saturn, lord of reality, and Neptune, ruler of problems that haunt or
mistakes that won’t go away. Jupiter aspected Saturn / Neptune on
the last Full Moon. It squares Saturn next week. Hopefully,
somebody will soon decide to pay the bills that need paying.
As for us little folk, what about something personal? How’s the
testy love life? How’s your physical well-being, your
fitness? Venus, the Vain, always wants a pretty face or
façade. Mars rules energy, drive and personal desire. Venus
and Mars bracketed the Sun perfectly, symmetrically on either side, on 4
October.
Saturday’s New Moon shifts the core of this running episode of
self-improvement. Then, the Sun aligns with Mars on Sunday, and
swifter moving Venus next week Friday, just before Mercury turns backward
and Neptune turns forward. Oh yeah, the “midterm” US election is
going to be ferociously hairy, as in weird, wicked and nasty, akin to a
second Halloween this year, when both of these square each other
again. They’ll be markedly different from the one just Sunday
past. Oooh, spooky.
Nota Bene: Vedic Astrology calls the Nodes of the Moon
“Planets”. These are mathematical points in space around which
Eclipses occur. They are not Planets or bodies of any kind.
Wouldn’t it be better to analyse the actual Eclipses when they occur?
Check Your Chart focuses on Planetary aspects, effective to one
degree only, affecting only a tenth of any Sign of the Zodiac.

This week: The Sun and Venus aspect Saturn Monday and
Wednesday to calm things down. But, the Sun and Mars aspect Uranus
Tuesday and Thursday to stir things up. Maybe the stir-stick gets
broken, because my money is on Saturn’s calming effect. Besides,
the Moon is loose, as in far back, and Saturday’s New Moon pulls things
closer to your nest for safety and security.
Monday and Wednesday, 16 and 18 October. (Moon in late Leo and
slowing in Virgo. Sun, first, then Venus, sextile Saturn.
22-23 degrees of All Signs)
Back to basics. Get the chores done, do the drudgery, keep the
faith, take out the trash. Yeah, a bit boring, but what’s your
alternative?
Tuesday and Thursday, 17 and 19 October. (Moon slow in Virgo,
early Libra. Mars, first, then the Sun, aspects Uranus.
26 Card, 11 Mut)
Mars, of course, wants to go to war, but with what, himself?
Buried in the Solar glare, how does one fight the many, perhaps too
many? Start something new, different, fresh.
Saturday, 21 October. (New Moon in late Libra. Venus
aspects Uranus. 26 Card, 11 Mut)
Even the bright face looks critical. Whatever the façade, give
more attention to what puts it together and keeps it alive than any
superficial impression. Look in, not at reactions.
(New Moon aligned with Mars, aspects Uranus / Neptune. 28-29
Card, 13-14 Mut)
With a driver nodding off on a mountain highway, whatever it takes,
stay sharp and defensive, especially through the night. Who knows
why? Who cares? It’s about you.
Sunday, 22 October. (Moon in Scorpio. Mercury conjunct
Jupiter. 22-23 Fix, 7-8 Card)
Good news. You’re not out of the canyon yet, but the storm is
lifting, light is coming, even if a narrow beam. At least you’ll
know what directions to take.
If you want the "horrible-scopes", go somewhere else.
If you want the meaning behind them, stay on.
Is your Number up? Check Your Four Personal Points for
every day, see below. If the numbers match, this day is for
you.
Each forecast shows: the Moon Sign, the Planetary Aspect, and Numbers
of degrees in Signs for the Planetary Aspect.
The Moon Sign is the Sign the Moon is in for that day.
The Moon Sign gives advantage to the Sign it is in, puts extra
pressure on the opposite Sign, and tends to cross up or neutralise the
Signs at right angles. For example, with Fixed Signs, if the Moon
is in Taurus, Taurus has the advantage, Scorpio gets challenged, and Leo
and Aquarius get shifted or crossed up.
The Planetary Aspect is where action is released. It's the
Excuse. Unlike daily Horoscopes that suggest each day has the same
level of influence, this is the core of changes in the daily
energies.
The Sign Numbers are the degrees in the Signs of the Zodiac being
emphasised. If the degree for any day is close to any degree of
Your Four Personal Points (see below), within a degree or so, THIS
IS YOUR DAY. Pay extra ATTENTION.
You may have several days in the week activated for you, or you may have
none. As a degree hits one of Your Four Personal Points, the
forecast tells about the important things in your life. The daily
forecasts tell you when. The overall story comes through over
time. Sooner or later, the degrees of the Forecast catch up to
you.
Your Four Personal Points are, in order of importance:
The Ascendant, the Mid-heaven, the Moon, and the
Sun.
These are the most important Points of your Horoscope, calculated
from your birth date, your birth-place, and the time of day you drew your
first breath. The first two Personal Points, the Ascendant
and Mid-heaven, are the points that fix the
Earth in space for your birth time at your specific birth
place. We live on the Earth, not the Sun or the Moon. The
Ascendant, also called Your Rising Sign, is more important
than your Sun Sign.
Simply, and generally only, forecasts that affect your:
Ascendant relate to matters in your
environment. Use it to see what's in your "face".
Mid-heaven relate to matters in your personal
life. Use it to see what's in your mind.
Moon
relate to matters in your emotional life. Use it to see
what's in your heart.
Sun
relate to matters in your physical
life. Use it to see what's in
your core.
The Signs of the Zodiac are:
Card: Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)
Fix: Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius)
Mut: Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces)
Heaven, Help Us! The forecast is the mood of the
moment. For example, if it rains, we all get wet, no matter
what "Sign" we are.
If you like this forecast, let others know. SEND IT TO THEM.
If you have comments or questions, LET ME KNOW. Check Your Four
Personal Points each week if any of them is targeted, and...
